Cooperation project between the Institute for Cognitive Mathematics of the University of Osnabrück, the Research Institute für Mathematics Education e.V. (Osnabrück) as well as the Stowarzyszenie Badan i Rozwoju Procesu Nauczania i Uczenia sie Matematyki MATHESIS (Pyzdry, Polen).

Initial Position:
Based on the feasibility study "Development of metacognitive and discursive activities in Indonesian maths teaching" (MeDIM), the pilot study is meant to design and test measures to enable the pupils to really understand the mathematical concepts and procedures acquired in maths class.
Planned Measures:

Generation of a learning environment,
-
creation of new types of problems, which animate the learners' planning, monitoring and reflection skills,
-
teacher training with respect to the diagnosis of metacognitive and discursive activities of learners and teachers by following specific theoretical guidelines when analyzing lesson recordings,
-
teacher training regarding the use of newly developed learning environments, the conception of a different type of problems and the improvement of the teaching culture,
-
development and execution of tests.
